15 minutes to the plane: the Coraopolis commute

Pittsburgh International Airport is roughly 6 miles from this ZIP code. Here is how the airport, Robinson, and trail math actually adds up.

The house that says "we land at 9 and we are home by 9:35."

Ask anyone who flies weekly where they finally settled and the answer around here keeps coming back to the same handful of addresses: Coraopolis, Moon, Enlow, Robinson. 101 Woodcrest Drive sits at the center of that logic, with Pittsburgh International Airport about 6 miles away as the crow flies and roughly 15 to 20 minutes by road.

The morning-of-the-flight math

For a 7am departure, a lot of people leave home at 5:45 to be safe. From this door you can sleep until 6:10 and still clear security with time for coffee. For flight crews with report times at odd hours, the difference between 15 minutes and 40 minutes to the terminal is the difference between a real dinner and a gas station sandwich.

The trip to the terminal is mostly low-stress roads rather than interstate weaving, which is worth more than the mileage figure.

Everything else is close too

  • Robinson Township. The Mall at Robinson, Settlers Ridge, and a strip of restaurants sit a few minutes south on Steubenville Pike.
  • Downtown Pittsburgh. The Parkway West (I-376) and I-79 corridor reach from this side of the county, with Ohio River towns like Sewickley a short hop upriver.
  • The trail as a corridor. The Montour Trail's Coraopolis Mile 0 lets the commute start on two wheels.

Who actually lives here

The mix is the point: airline families who want the airport close, commuters who work at the airport's employers or Robinson's retail and corporate hubs, and empty nesters who want the trail and the low upkeep without losing the city. A condo that insures only inside the walls fits that crowd's monthly budget math better than a detached house on a half acre ever could.

Distance figures here are approximate driving-tool readings, so treat them as planning numbers, not promises. Then test the commute yourself from the showing, because 15 minutes feels very different at 6am in good weather than at 6pm in traffic.
